Following opposition, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje shifted to Bengaluru North from Udupi- Chikkamagaluru

Bengaluru: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shobha Karandlaje has been shifted to Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency from Udupi- Chikkamagaluru Constituency.

Shobha who is representing Udupi- Chikkamagaluru constituency for the second term in the lower house of the Parliament had to face stiff resistance from the local workers, who had launched a ‘Go Back Shobakka’ campaign.

They had resented against giving a ticket to her to contest the elections again for the third time. However the defiant Shobha had exuded confidence of getting the ticket from Udupi- Chikkamagaluru itself, calling all those dissenting voices as common during every elections.

However when the first list of 20 BJP candidates was announced for Karnataka on Wednesday, Shobha had found a place, but change in constituency from Udupi- Chikkamagaluru to Bengaluru North.

While Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Kota Sreenivas Poojary has been named as the BJP candidate for Udupi- Chikkamagaluru constituency.

Former Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda who currently represents Bengaluru North in the Parliament had been officially coveyed by the party top brass about its decision not to field him in the elections this time.
