Flood of waste hits Mandhara; Siddaramaiah wants government to act

Mangaluru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has continued his visit to flood affected areas.

On August 31, Siddaramaiah visited Mandhara village that has been not just affected by flood, but also the waste that flowed along from nearby Pacchanady.

It is the dumping yard of MCC waste, that collects refuse from the households in Mangaluru City Corporation limits.

Siddaramaiah who was moved down by the plight of the dwellers said “Measures should be taken to clean the village of waste earliest and help people to rebuild their lives. The damages suffered by farming community should be provided with a suitable compensation”.

Former minister and Ullal MLA U T Khader, former MLA Mohiuddin Bawa, MLC Ivan D’Souza and others accompanied Siddaramaiah.
