Mysuru: Former MLA M K Somashekar has announced Rs two lakh aid from his pocket to help the rehabilitation of flood affected people in north Karnataka.
Somashekar and his friends and followers had taken a similar initiative and had collected essential articles worth Rs 10 lakh for the cause of flood affected people in Kodagu and Bagalkot and Kerala State previous year.
In a similar gesture Somashekar has decided to extend a helping hand for the flood affected people in north Karnataka this time.
Somashekar and M K S Brigade and Janaspandana Trust has appealed to the generous minded people to donate essential items like new dresses, vessels, cooking stoves, medicines and other articles.
The articles can be dropped at Chikkamma Niketana Community Hall, Kuvempunagar. The articles collected will be distributed at the rehabilitation centres opened by the government at flood affected regions.
