Bengaluru: Shocking details are emerging out of Central Crime Branch (CCB) crackdown on a house in Kanakanagar, Sultanpalya near RT Nagar here on Wednesday, for suspected terror activities.

The CCB police took five terror suspects into custody who were allegedly conspiring to carry out serial bomb blast in Bengaluru.

The arrested have been identified as Mudassir, Faizal Rabbani, Suhail, Tabrez and Umar. Their mastermind Junaid is absconding. The five accused used to meet every evening at Suhail’s house in R T Nagar and would devise plans to carry out blasts in the city, the police said.

It is alleged that although, Suhail’s father allegedly knew of their activities, he did not inform. The police are expected to summon Suhail’s father and parents of other accused as a part of the probe.

With the arrest of terror suspects, the police have averted a major tragedy in the City. For, the police have seized seven guns, 45 bullets, 12 basic mobile phones, walkie-talkie among other articles from the suspects.

City Police Commissioner B Dayananda told mediapersons that “the suspects were being funded through international agencies via digital payments and this is being probed, further.”

In fact, all the five terror suspects were among 21 accused for a murder in 2017 in Bengaluru.

According to the police, they came in contact with terror suspects housed in Parappana Agrahara prisons and once out from the jail, they continued to devise plans to launch blasts in various parts of the City. However, their mastermind, Junaid is absconding.

The police said that they were receiving training from Jamaat-e-Islami handlers and were preparing to carry out their plan, when the police raided them.

All the terror suspects were Bengalureans and were active. They had all the information to carry out bomb blasts in at least 10 locations in Bengaluru from their handlers, informed the commissioner.

Meanwhile, the five terror suspects were produced before CCB court. The CCB had requested for 15 days custody but the court granted seven-day custody of the suspects.
