Five- day total lockdown in Mysuru from May 29

Mysuru: As Covid-19 cases hover at alarming level in the district, the district administration has decided to go for total lockdown for five days from May 29 to June 7, 6 am.

Barring relaxation for buying essential commodities on Monday and Thursday, from 6 am to 12 noon, there will be total restrictions in place in the remaining days. While the banks and insurance offices will be allowed on the given days from 8 am to 12 noon, according to a notification issued from the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

Stand alone milk booths, medical services and Hopcoms stalls will remain open, without any restrictions. While all other activities are totally restricted.

Barring goods vehicles, other public vehicles are not allowed to move on the roads. Any violations will be strictly dealt under section 5 of Disaster Management Act and IPC section 188.

Arrangements should be made to make public announcement in this regard and police are hereby directed to initiate action against the offenders.
