Five-day ‘Mysuru Ranga Habba’ from tomorrow

Mysuru: ‘Mysuru Ranga Habba’, a five day theatre festival is being organized by the Mysuru District Amateur Theatre Artistes’ Association in association with Kannada and Culture Department here in Mysuru from March 22. The fest will showcase plays from amateur artistes and seminars on theatre by renowned speakers at Kiru Rangamandira.

Senior theatre personality Prasanna will inaugurate the fest on March 22 at 6 pm. Theatre artiste and noted actor Mandya Ramesh, Kannada and Culture Department Joint Director, V N Mallikarjun and others will take part.

A seminar will be held on ‘Amateur theatre – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ on March 26 at 10.30 am where theatre director H S Umesh and theatre personality Horeyala Doreswami will deliberate on the topic. Senior theatre artiste Rajashekhar Kadamba will preside over the seminar.

The fest will conclude on March 27 at 6 pm and senior theatre artiste C Basavalingaiah will address the gathering. Senior theatre artistes Indira Nair and department assistant director Dr M D Sudarshan will be present.

During the five-day fest, amateur artistes will showcase plays and they include: ‘Sethu Madhavana Sallapa’ (March 22), ‘Aranya Kanda’ (March 23), ‘Namma Nimmolagobba’ (March 24), ‘Sambanja Annodu Doddadu Kana’ (March 25), ‘Varasudara’ (March 26) and ‘Bekagiddare’ (March 27).
