FIR lodged against 29 persons for violating home quarantine norms

Mysuru: The first information reports (FIR) have been booked against 29 persons who violated home quarantine norms across the district. Stringent action will be taken against such violators, said Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar.

On Thursday, Deputy commissioner Abhiram G Sankar took part in the mask day organised by the Mysuru City Corporation.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, he said “now that lockdown norms have been relaxed it has become more challenging to contain the virus spread. Despite advising home quarantine, a few ignored the rules. So, we have registered FIR against them”, he added. 

One person tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday. He was working as BMTC driver and he returned from Bengaluru. However, his travel history is being ascertained, he informed.

The Mysuru City Corporation and district administration have taken initiative to spread awareness regarding wearing mask at Gram Panchayath levels, DC told.
