FIR against CM Siddaramaiah has 59 observations in 16 pages

Mysuru: The First Information Report (FIR) filed by Lokayukta Police of Mysuru divison, against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and four others, including his wife, contains 59 observations elaborately explained in 16 pages. 

Following the order of Special Court For Elected Representatives, Bengaluru on Thursday, directing the Lokayukta SP of Mysuru Division, to file a FIR against CM Siddaramaiah and investigate into the allegations of irregularities in the allotment of 14 compensatory sites by MUDA to CM’s wife Parvathi, at upscale Vijayanagar locality in the city, the FIR was filed on Friday.

Snehamayi Krishna, journalist, Social activist and film director, is the complainant in the case. He had filed a Private Complaint Report (PCR) at the Court.

Udesh T J, Lokayukta SP of Mysuru has filed the FIR and taken up the investigation.

The copy of the FIR (11/2024) names- Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi, brother-in-law M B Mallikarjun Swamy, owner of the land J Devaraj and others, totalling five accused from 1 to 5.

The charges, serious in nature are framed under five different sections, IPC Sections 120B, 166, 403, 406, 420, 426, 465, 468, 340 and 351,  Sections 9 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act, Sections 3, 53 and 54 of Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act and Sections 3 and 4 of Karnataka Land Grabbing Prohibition Act 2011.

The period of offence is recorded as 27/10/1968 to 9/11/2023.

The case is about, allotment of 14 sites to Parvathi accused 2 by MUDA under 50:50 site scheme in lieu of 3.16 acres of land at Survey No 464, Kesare village, utilised for the formation of Devanur Layout third stage.

Parvathi had claimed to be the owner of the said land, received as a gift deed from her brother Mallikarjun Swamy, the third accused in the case. J Devaraj the fourth accused in the case, claiming to be the owner of the land had sold it to Mallikarjun Swamy.

However, the documents of the land bearing survey No 464 present a different story, as the land had been notified and denotified under different stages, with a malicious intention, that alludes at the role of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, which is under investigation. The names of then Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru S Selvakumar and Tahsildar Malige Shankar are also mentioned in the observations made in the FIR.
