Finally, Rafale jets land in India! A new beginning in military force

New Delhi: Marking a new era in the history of Indian military five French made Rafale jets landed at Ambala Air Base in Haryana on Wednesday.

The multi-role combat jets covered a distance of 7000 km starting from Merignac Air Base in French port city of Bordeaux.

They were escorted by two Sukhoi 30 MKI as they entered the air base at Haryana. Incidentally, 23 years ago Sukhoi aircrafts were imported.

The fleet of Rafale include three single seater and two twin seater aircrafts that will be inducted into Indian Air Force (IAF) in August. They will be inducted into ‘No 17 Squadron’ also known as ‘ Golden Arrows’.
