The name of the convention earlier called- Janotsava has been rechristened as Janaspandana. Owing to unavoidable circumstances, the convention had to be postponed twice in the recent past.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will be the central attraction of the convention that aims to attract not less than two lakh workers and people alike, according to the organisers.
Before leaving for the convention, Bommai said “The intention is to tell the people about the various initiatives of the government already announced for the cause of people”.
The chief minister also offered special puja at Anjaneya temple on Palace road.
The convention aimed at celebrating BJP’s two years in office, especially of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in power for over one year, is believed to sound a poll bugle with the general elections due next year.
To ensure nothing goes awry, BJP has arranged vehicles to ferry people.
Separate 40 food counters for women and 150 food counters for men have been arranged at the venue of convention with both breakfast and lunch served for the people.
Two catering firms have been hired to prepare the food.
Besides, elaborate security arrangements are made with the police drawn from Doddaballapur and surrounding three districts deputed at the venue.
