Fifth National Level IEEE Project Competition-2021! 50 projects selected, awarded cash prizes

Mysuru: GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru had organised prize distribution ceremony of fifth National Level IEEE Project Competition-2021 under IEEE Student Branch in association with IEEE Bangalore Section and IEEE Mysuru Subsection recently in online mode.

The prize distribution ceremony was held on June 28 from 9.30 AM on webex platform.
From each session, as per the expert committee decision ONE Best Project was selected. Hence a total of 50 best projects are selected and were awarded with a cash prize and appreciation certificate.
In each session around 15 project teams presented their project work. Academicians and experts were invited from various reputed colleges and companies across India to evaluate the projects. All the jury members appreciated the initiation taken by the college and students.
The competition had received 1000 projects across India among which 750+
projects were selected for the competition. Projects selected for this competition were
segregated into parallel 50 sessions, based on the domain.
Dr B E Ranga swamy, Registrar (Evaluation), VTU, Belagavi, was the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony along with Vanaja B Pandit, Hon. Secretary, GSSS( R ), Dr Shivakumar M, Principal, GSSSIETW, Mysuru and IEEE Student Branch Counsellor, Dr Parameshachari B D, IEEE Student branch Counselor, Professor & Head, Dept. of TCE, Dr G. Manjula, IEEE SB Faculty Advisor, Assoc. Prof, Dept. of ECE.
The event was graced by jury members, Head of the Departments of GSSSIETW, IEEE faculty coordinators and student participants from various engineering colleges across the country.
Rangaswamy spoke about the significance
of participation in technical competition which will provide students countless number of opportunities.
He expressed that, “Knowledge is power, as along with the process of acquiring knowledge it is very important to acquire a set of skills. Outcome of organising such events will improve critical thinking, Inter and Intrapersonal skills, Binding the idea which are very important for the students.”
He mentioned that such events will boost confidence in students.
He suggested students to work on thought process, to make use of best qualities and to
overcome weakness.
He also mentioned that technical competitions are one way of helping students to the next step. Technology is one of the way to make Nation and people’s life better.
He motivated students by his words of wisdom by expressing that participation is
more important than winning or losing. Lessons learnt from failure will surely make
you a winner one day.
He congratulated the management of GSSSIETW, Dr M Shivakumar, Principal, faculty coordinators for providing a platform for the betterment of students.
He also appreciated Shivakumar for the leadership qualities he owns in getting the right things done at the right time.
Shivakumar expressed that “competition is a platform for the students to exhibit their ideas and skills acquired by them. The GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology has always supported such events for the betterment of students and society.”
He also mentioned that IEEE student branch of GSSSIETW has a large number of student members and majority of faculty members are the members of IEEE.
He expressed that IEEE Student branch of GSSSIETW is vibrant in conducting many events.
He congratulated the winners of competition and wished good luck for all the participants.
He also thanked Rangaswamy and all the jury members for being a counterpart in the success of the event.
Vanaja B Pandit, Hon. Secretary, GSSS( R ), thanked and appreciated Rangaswamy for his motivational talk during the event.
She expressed that GSSSIETW has been taking several steps to organise professional events and fifth National Level IEEE Project Competition in association with IEEE is the outcome of one such initiatives.
She congratulated principal and staff coordinators for the success of the event.
She also congratulated the winners of the competition and wished good luck for all their future endeavours. Jury members from various reputed organisations expressed that it was a wonderful event and they were happy to be a part of it.
They expressed that such events will help in all-round development of students.
They also expressed that project competition will enhance soft skills among students which are very important to overcome gap between academia and industry.
They congratulated the management of GSSSIETW, Principal, coordinators and participants.
Participants during the feedback session expressed that, “the event was well coordinated and they had a good learning experience. The participation has changed the way of learning, induced an interest to learn more and enhanced their confidence level.”
The best wishes for the success of the event was conveyed by Dr M Jagannatha Shenoi President, GSSS(R) and R K Bharath, Management Committee Member & CEO GSSS(R).
The prize distribution ceremony was started with the invocation of almighty by
Chaitrashree, Asst. Professor, Department of EEE, GSSSIETW, followed by welcome
address by Dr G Manjula, IEEE SB Faculty Advisor, Assoc. Prof, Dept. of ECE. The glimpse of project competition was highlighted by Dr Parameshachari B D, IEEE Student Branch Counselor, Professor & Head, Dept. of TCE.
Finally, the event was concluded by vote of thanks by Bharthi R, Asst. Prof, Dept. of ECE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru. MOC was done by Deepika T V, Asst. Prof, Dept. of EIE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru.
