Federation of Dalit Organisations submit a charter of 13 demands

Mysuru: Federation of Dalit Organisations  on Monday launched a movement to send a memoranda with various demands to the chief minister and social welfare minister.

According to Algod Shivakumar Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (DSS) district convener, the memoranda with 13 point demands were submitted at all the district and taluk centres across the State.

In T Narsipur taluk, the memoranda was simultaneously submitted in all the 36 Grama Panchayats.

The demands included sacking of former PSI Arjun of Gonibeedu police station in Chikkamagaluru from service for forcing a dalit youth identified as Puneeth to drink urine.

Action against the perpetrators behind rape and murder of two dalit minor girls at Basavanabagewadi in Vijayapura.

Resignation of Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar over the death of 37 people due to lack of oxygen in Chamarajanagar according to a probe report submitted by High Court appointed panel.

Rs 10 lakh relief to next of kin of those who died of Oxygen disruption across the State including Chamarajanagar.

Rs 15,000 monthly financial assistance from SCP and TSP funds to SC and ST families and all poor families hit by lockdown.

Suitable action against embezzlement of SCP- TSP funds, free vaccine for those affected by Covid-19 and black fungus, along with bed, medicine and oxygen facilities at hospitals to name a few of the several demands.
