Chamarajanagar: Acting on a tip off, the police have busted a fake currency racket.

Duplicate currency notes of Rs 2,000 denomination worth Rs 3.15 crore have been seized near Attugulipura on August 16. The notes were being transported in a goods autorickshaw.

The police claim to have arrested a person, as three others involved in smuggling the notes escaped.

The notes were being taken to Tamil Nadu from Maddur in Mandya district.

The police have intensified the investigation into the case, as they suspect the role of a bigger network behind the racket.
