As part of Mysuru Dasara- 2024, a new programme has been launched, allowing the visitors to explore the city’s rich heritage on classic Jawa bikes.
This initiative is a highlight of the Dasara heritage events.
The Heritage Department had organised a special bike rally from Rangacharlu Town Hall, focusing on heritage awareness as part of the Dasara celebrations.
The event saw the participation of Archaeology Department Commissioner A. Devaraju, resource persons N S Rangaraju and Shelvapillai Iyengar, along with nearly 100 bikers.
Commissioner Devaraju remarked that the Department of Archaeology, established in 1885, is committed to the preservation, conservation, and promotion of Mysuru’s heritage. The world-renowned Dasara celebrations present a unique opportunity to showcase the city’s grand cultural legacy.
The Jawa bike riders passed through significant landmarks, including Town Hall, Chamaraja Wadiyar 10th Circle, Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar (KR) Circle, Banumaiah’s College, CADA Office, Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar Circle, Narasimharaja Boulevard, Lalithamahal, Teresian College, Vasanth Mahal, and the Postal Training Center, before concluding at the Department of Archaeology premises at the Dasara Exhibition Grounds.
