Mysuru: In its continued quest to nurture student entrepreneurs, three of Mysuru’s Excel Public School’s student innovations have been selected among the 30 innovations to be presented in the final round of Global Innovation Challenge (GIC) 2024.
GIC is an annual event organized by Invent Future Global, an NGO dedicated to empowering students across the globe to enhance their problem-solving skills and build self-confidence. The students of Excel Public School competed with 186 students from 26 countries to make it to the finals. The social impact innovations from the students of Excel Public School (EPS) cut across solutions from agriculture, public food distribution management to road safety. These innovations will be presented live at the Global Innovation Field Trip (GIFT) to be held virtually on October 14-15, 2024.

The Global Innovation Challenge (GIC) is a two-round virtual competition for students aged 5 to 19 from across the globe, providing a platform for young innovators to share, compete, and be celebrated for their ideas around the world. The first round involves submitting a pitch, which is reviewed by a panel of judges to select the finalists. In the second and final round, the projects are presented live at GIFT, where they are judged by an international panel and showcased to an audience.

The three projects developed by Excel Public School students harness the power of science and technology to address the critical societal needs.
- The Agri Feed Pro project (seen in picture on the top), developed by Bhuvan P M (Grade 11), Nandan Hegde (Grade 11) and Aryan Kini (Grade 10), tackles challenges in animal husbandry by automating the process of converting surplus green fodder into silage, improving livestock nutrition, reducing waste and boosting farm productivity.
- AI RoadCare developed by Tanish Tejaswi M S (Grade 11), Bhuvan P M (Grade 11), and Namasyu A (Grade 11), is an AI-powered solution aimed at enhancing road safety by detecting alcohol levels, monitoring eye blinks for drowsiness, and tracking driving duration to prevent accidents in India.
- The Hello Rationease, developed by Nandan Hegde (Grade 11), Leysha Prashant (Grade 10) and Ananthanarayan Pranav (Grade 11) is an automated device designed to address inefficiencies in the ration distribution system. The device is integrated with RFID technology, biometric authentication, and real-time feedback mechanism to eliminate human intervention, reduce waiting times and ensure continuous resource availability, thereby enhancing fairness and accaccessibility.
The students were mentored by Gopinath Subramaniam, Senior Learning Designer, Excelsoft technologies and Sudhakar L, Mentor from Excelsoft TecTechnologies.
