Ex-VC of Mangalore University Prof M I Savadatti no more

Dharwad: Forner Vice- chancellor of Mangalore University, Prof M I Savadatti passed away on Wednesday. He was 89.
Savadatti died of massive cardiac arrest while at home, according to the sources close to the family.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
Savadatti who had the privilege of serving VC of Mangalore University for two terms, was slso a recipient of many distinguished honours and awards including Karnataka Rajyotsava award and Sir M Visvesvaraya Lifetime Achievement Award.
Savadatti also served as the member of University Grants Commission (UGC) and founder vice- chairman of Karnataka State Higher Education Council.
