Mysuru: Former MLA M Satyanarayana passed away in the city on Thursday. He was ailing from sometime.
Satyanarayana was admitted at a hospital in Yelwal, where he died.
A close confidante of former chief minister Siddaramaiah, Satyanarayana popularly known as Satyappa was elected to Legislative Assembly from Chamundeshwari constituency in 2008 assembly elections. When Siddaramaiah shifted to Varuna constituency, Satyappa was fielded on Congress ticket from Chamundeshwari. He lost to G T Devegowda of Janta Dal ( Secular) party in 2013 election.
Satyappa’s son Arun Kumar is a sitting ZP member.
