Even before unlock is announced, people hit streets in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Even as the State Government is yet to announce unlock in phases, the city is slowly returning to normal days posing the threat.

The lockdown is extended till June 14 and there is no sign of Covid-19 subsiding fully at least in the coming days, yet the people are hitting the streets nonchalantly.

On Tuesday, the areas around Town Hall, K R Market and also a part of Nayandahalli was a beehive of activity in the early morning hours.

The people ignoring safety norms like maintaining physical distance and wearing mask, were seen shopping in and around with no sign of police to rein in the crowd.

While the relaxation is given only for those dealing with essential items, shops irrespective of goods including garments were opened in the morning hours.

Vehicles irrespective of goods and private were also seen on the roads. Barricades put by the police are also removed, making it more easy for the traffic.

On Monday, Karnataka reported 11,958 fresh Covid cases including 1,992 in Bengaluru urban and 292 in rural.
