Eighth death anniversary of Kurien! Mymul director Somashekar remembers the ‘Milkman of India’

Mysuru: A T Somashekar Director of Mysuru Milk Union Limited ( Mymul) said “cattle rearing has reached a dizzying heights. While the farmers owning lands do farming, the others are eking out their living with cattle rearing”.

Somashekar was speaking during the eighth death anniversary of Dr Verghese Kurien organised by the Federation of Mysuru District Milk Producers Cooperative Societies and Milk Producers Cooperative Society, Ankanahalli.
Somashekar said “Milk is beyond politics and the leaders irrespective of party are involved in the activities”.
Kudos to Kurien the doyen in the realm who did this all for the benefit of agrarian community. The Milk Producers Cooperative Society, Ankanahalli has set an example for others by organising the programme in commemoration of Kurien for the last eight years.
The office-bearers of Taluk Milk Producers Cooperative Society also celebrated the 60th birthday of Somashekar and felicitated him.
JDS K R Nagar taluk spokesperson K L Ramesh, Dairy Prakash, Karpooravalli GP former president Prasanna, Medical Rajanna of Saligrama, Bherya Lokesh, Bettahalli Dinesh, Manju, Gopal, society secretary Satish were present during the celebration of birthday.
Mymul Manager Dr Shivanand Alur, Deputy Manager Sanna Thammegowda, APMC former president Kuppalli Somu, Mymul former director Vijayalakshmi, President of Milk Producers Cooperative Society Ankanahalli K Nataraj, Vice- president Shashikala, directors A P Nataraj, Kumar, Dinesh and Arun, Mymul extension officer K R Jayanth, Dushyanth Gowda, Yogesh, Nandini, Abhilash and secretary K Rangappa were present.
