Eighth convocation at Philomena’s: 700 students receive various degrees

Mysuru: In all 700 degrees including graduates and post-graduates were handed over to successful students at the eighth convocation of St Philomena’s College (Autonomous) Mysuru on Saturday.
It included 436 graduates and 264 post-graduates who received the degree certificates.
Besides, 37 gold medals were distributed to graduates and 11 to post-graduates.
Bishop of Mysuru and Chairman of Mysore Diocesan Education Society (MDES) K A William inaugurated the ceremony.
Former Vice-chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar, Prof Sanjeev Kumar Sharma delivered the convocation address.
That apart, cash awards were distributed in commemoration of T R A Thambuchetty the private secretary of Maharaja of Mysore.
