Eight ‘Kidnappers’ sent behind bars for three years

Mysuru: A gang of eight who had kidnapped a man and his son for ransom in October 2009, have been found guilty by a court.
Judge of fifth additional distrct and sessions court G G Kuruvatti has awarded three years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 5,000 fine. They have to undergo additional imprisonment of two months, if they fail to pay the fine.
Advocate Nagappa Nakaman was the public prosecutor for the case.
The convicted persons are- Hemanth Kumar alias ‘King’, Padmanabhanagar, Bengaluru, Keerti kumar, Kaggere, Tumakuru, Kishor Kumar, Hampinagar, Bengaluru, Hemanth Kumar, Kavita layout, Bengaluru, Rajesh, Amritahalli, Bengaluru, K V Charan, Kempegowda Nagar, Praveen, Tavaradevarakoppal, Hassan and Venkatesh, Kaggere, Tumakuru.
The convicts had kidnapped Mohan and his son Tushar when they had gone to Chetan Clinic on Paramahamsa road in Yadavgiri.
V V Puran had registered a case. ACP A K Suresh led police team had rescued them and apprehended the kidnappers.
The team included inspectors Arun Nagegowda, H M Mahadevappa, C T Jayakumar and Dhananjaya and PSI Guruprasad.
