Drug mafia without police nexus impossible, alleges Maddur MLA Thammanna

Mandya: The allegations over drug mafia reached another level with Maddur MLA D C Thammanna accusing the unholy nexus of police department with the mafia.
Thammanna the JDS MLA alleged that “many do not know another face of the police department, whom we recently lauded for their service as Corona Warriors. The drug mafia cannot survive without the support of policemen. Hence it is pertinent to check the loopholes in the department”.
” I will write to chief minister, home minister and also the principal secretary. I will send a draft of the letter today itself”, said Thammanna.
The drug mafia is not only in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi, Maddur or Mandya. It is also active in Maddur and has reached every district, taluk and village levels.
For the last one week we have been hearing about the mafia in the media. It’s not only the politicians and film stars and their children who have fallen prey to it. It is everywhere, alleged Thammanna about the extent of drug mafia.
The mafia should be probed deeply and there shouldn’t be any attempt to mislead the case by taking the names of a few, said Thammanna.
