DRFO falls into ditch during elephant drive
1 min readChikkamagaluru: A deputy range forest officer has sustained injuries when he fell into a ditch at Bhyrapura village in Mudigere taluk in the district on October 28.
The village shares the border with forest and is known for frequent elephant raids.
A forest personnel’s team led by DRFO Chetan had gone to the village after learning about a herd of three elephants camping in an agricultural field.
One of the elephants charged towards the personnel. Chetan who ran for a cover accidentally fell into a ditch and suffered serious injuries in his leg.
He was taken to taluk hospital at Mudigere and was shifted to a private hospital in Chikkamagaluru.
