Mysuru: Dr S E Mahadevappa retired deputy director of food and civil supplies department passed away on Monday. He was 64.
Mahadevappa had suffered chest pain on Sunday and was admitted at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in the city, where he breathed his last on Monday early hours.
Mahadevappa who had served as deputy director in Mysuru, had also worked in Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar and several other districts.
Mahadevappa was also a writer and was involved in farmers related activities.
He was also associated with Grameena Corona Service group of Karnataka Sugarcane Growers Association.
The last rites will be conducted at his native T Narsipur in the district in the evening.
He is survived by his wife, sons and a large number of relatives.
