Dr C N Ashwathnarayan to inaugurate one-day symposium on National Education Policy at VVCE on September 27

Mysuru: National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) envisions Indian-centric education system that contributes directly for transforming our nation sustainably into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society by providing high-quality education to all.

The National Education Policy 2020, which was approved by the Union Cabinet of India on July 29, 2020, outlines the vision of India’s new education system.

To facilitate awareness and effective implementation of National Education Policy (NEP), Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru is organizing a “One-day Symposium on National Education Policy 2020” on September 27.

The inauguration is scheduled at 10.30 am at Sports Complex, VVCE Campus, Gokulam.

The symposium will be inaugurated by Minister of Higher Education, IT & BT, Science & Technology, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood, Government of Karnataka, Dr Ashwath Narayana C N in the divine and gracious presence of Suttur seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji and Dr Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, Sri Adichunchanagiri Math.

Dr Karisiddappa, Vice-chancellor, VTU, Belagavi, Pratap Simha, Member of Parliament, Mysuru and L Nagendra, MLA, Chamaraja Constituency, Mysuru will be the Guests of Honour.

The inaugural function shall be presided by Gundappa Gowda, President, Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS), Mysuru. P Vishwanath, Secretary, VVS, Mysuru, Dr B Sadashive Gowda, Principal, VVCE, staff of VVS institutions shall be present. Dignitaries will inaugurate the newly built Sports Complex’ and ‘Hostel block’ situated in the premises of VVCE.

The book authored by Gundappa Gowda on “Nammuru, Namma Hemme Kumbarakoppal” shall be released during the inaugural function.

Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering has planned for a panel discussion on “Effective Implementation of NEP 2020 for Autonomous and Non-Autonomous Institutions” featuring stakeholders from the education and policy ecosystem in the afternoon session.

This discussion will help to identify key challenges, issues, and concerns by bringing them to reality. Also, the panel will probe the ground realities in the current Indian education system and implications of the proposed policy.
