1 min read

Mysuru: Even as the preparations are on for 107th Indian Science Congress from January 3 in Bengaluru, Karnataka State Universities and Colleges Backward Classes and Minorities Teachers Association, Mysuru, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to share dais with  Science Congress Association Chairman Prof K S Rangappa.

Prime minister will inaugurate the conference scheduled from January 3 to 7.

Association president Prof J Sannappa has also written the letters to Governor Vajubai Rudabai Vala, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Harsh Vardhan on similar lines.

Sannappa has also demanded authorities to sack Rangappa as Association president and the Governor to initiate action against him. If the dignitaries share dais with Rangappa, it will be a huge embarrassment as several cases are pending against him.

Sannappa has explained that “Rangappa who was previously the Vice- chancellor of Karnataka State Open University ( KSOU) is facing various charges of irregularities and a commission formed to probe has also indicted him in the report. Six first information reports ( FIR) are filed against him on the basis of complaints filed by KSOU and he is the prime accused in four cases. Two more cases are pending against him in anti-corruption bureau”.
