1 min read

Mysuru: Emphasising the importance of physical distance and personal hygiene to contain the spread of Corona virus in the wake of non-availability of vaccine for Covid-19, Opposition Leader in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah urged the State government not to open schools for another three months.

BJP government cuts down SC/ST, minorties fund
He pointed out the previous JDS-Congress government had allocated Rs 30,000 crore for SC/ST communities. But the present government has brought it down to Rs 26,000 only. Besides, it has reduced 40 per cent of minorities programmes planned by the previous government, he informed.
The State and Central governments’ policy decisions are antifederal. “It is purely unconstitutional. If Opposition parties question it, they call it politics. Why should we remain quiet when people are in the crisis. Their unplanned lockdown has destroyed everything. People have died walking without food and water. Should we be silent spectators to all this,” Siddaramaiah questioned.
Congress leaders HC Mahadevappa, R Dhruvanaryana, BJ Vijaykumar, Yathindra Siddaramaiah and MK Somashekar were present.
