1 min read
Mandya: Several villagers in Kottatti village of the taluk have submitted a petition to various officials, including the Mandya District Excise Deputy Divisional Officer and the Deputy Commissioner, demanding that a license not be granted to open a bar and restaurant near a school.

On April 2, 2024, H J Bhavya had obtained permission from the Panchayat to set up a mini party hall and then re-applied for a CL 7 (bar and restaurant).

We have approached the court in this regard and the case is under hearing. Later, the Gram Panchayat also decided to cancel the license.
Not only that, the previous Excise Deputy Commissioner has issued an acknowledgement that the license cannot be issued. However, the current Deputy Commissioner had violated the law by issuing the license.

They submitted a petition to the Excise Department, demanding that a license not be granted to open a bar and restaurant in the building for any reason.

Siddegowda, Santosh, lawyer Anil Kumar, Nagaraj, Mahesh and many others were present on this occasion.
