Divorced couple bury differences, reunite at Lok Adalat in Mysuru

Mysuru: Mega Lok Adalat in the city witnessed a rare rapprochement on Saturday.

A couple who had separated five years ago through divorce were reunited during the Adalat at new court complex at Malalavadi in the city.

Principal District and Sessions Court Judge M L Raghunath told media persons “the couple from Jyothinagar in the city were married 30 years ago. However, after being together for 25 years, they had separated through divorce five years ago. They had decided to part ways owing to difference of opinion among them.”

At Lok Adalat they reached a compromise and exchanged garlands as a mark of remarriage, Raghunath stated.

Another significance of the Adalat was, a whopping 12,000 cases were solved in a single day.

Around 19 divorce cases were solved and also 2,000 more cases are ready to be compromised in legal perspective, the judge added.
