Mysuru: “Sojugada Sooju Mallige” fame singer Ananya Bhat on Wednesday said “singing with divinity is important when rendering a devotional song”.

Ananya Bhat who has the hit song on Malai Mahadeshwara to her credit, is most known for her rendition of ‘Sojugada Sooju Mallige…’ that received one crore viewers on social media.

She was sharing her views in the backdrop of a controversy related to Kannada rapper Chandan Shetty, whose new video album “Kolumande” on Malai Mahadeshwara has landed in a controversy.

Bhat told Mysoorunews.com “Singers will be not having any intention to defame the song or sentiments of the people. When we focus on style of rendering songs, flaws do happen”.

Our folk songs which are rich in content, are now getting a modern touch. As it still attracts more music lovers, we prefer only to make it up without changing the originality of the song”, said Bhat.

Feigning ignorance on the controversy over Kolumande song, Bhat said “Some songs face trouble when there is a comparison between the picturisation of the songs, which were shot earlier. Music should be treated like a therapy to relax and stay away from the burden of life for a while”.
