District minister inspects Raja Marga in Mysuru

Mysuru: District minister V Somanna has inspected ‘Raja Marga’ in the city on August 31.
The five km long stretch of Raja Marga from Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple to Bannimantap is the jamboo savari route, where the Vijayadashami procession passes through every year after the culmination of Navaratri.
The minister accompanied by Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmed, MP Prathap Simha, MLA L Nagendra, former mayor S Satish, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar, Police Commissioner K T Balakrishna inspected the route by foot.
The first batch of six elephants were also taken on the same route to acclimatise them.
Navaratri will start from September 29, and writer S L Bhyrappa has been selected to open the festivities at Chamundi Hill. Jamboo Savari is on October 8.
