Dial 1962! ‘Pashu Sanjeevini’ medical assistance on wheels for cattle

Mysuru: Henceforth if the cattle are found ill, the farmers can expect medical assistance at their doorstep.
District minister S T Somashekar on Saturday flagged off ‘Pashu Sanjeevini’ vehicle services introduced by the department of animal husbandry and veterinary services.
It is a first of it’s kind service introduced by the department to provide timely medical assistance to cattle in case of any emergency.

The farmers can avail the service by dialling 1962 a dedicated helpline number.
The van which has been modified for the purpose is equipped with a surgery unit, laboratory, scanning equipment, 250 litres water tank, besides seating capacity for veterinarians. The interior is also equipped with air condition.
Somashekar said ” the chief minister will also flag off the service in Bengaluru in the coming days. In the later stages, the service will be extended across the state”.
Zilla Panchayat President Parimala Shyam, MLA L Nagendra, MUDA Chairman H V Rajiv, Deputy Commissioner Sharat B and others were present.
