Dhanwantri Jayanti: Swasthya Mitra Award given to five docs

Mysuru: Government Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital felicitated prestigious Indian Medicine practitioners on account of Dhanwantri Jayanti on Wednesday.

GAMC along with Arogya Bharati organisation organised Dhanwantri Jayanti and also presentation of “Swasthya Mithra Award”.

Arogya Bharati Convenor Dr A S Chandrashekar narrated the history of Ayurveda Medical College which was started at Maharaja’s Sanskrit College before shifting to its present campus on New Sayyaji Rao Road.

Since decades Ayurveda College and Hospital is conferring Swasthya Mithra awards on the prestigious personalities who are engaged in Ayurveda, Health and Social health activites.

Dr Shashidhar B N, Dr Mamatha K V, Dr Padyana Subramanya Bhat, Dr Gowrishankar and Dr Sridhar B N were the recipients of awards this year.

Dr Gowrishankar who has retired from Trissur Ayurveda College in Kerala has now started Ayurveda Startup and has formulated a special tablet.

Sri Shivakanthananda Swamiji, Ramakrishna Mutt, Mysuru presided.

He spoke about ayurveda and its benefits.

Bharateeya Ayurveda Vaidya Sangha president Dr B Gurubasavaraju and GAMC Faculty Dr Venkatakrishna College, faculty members and PG and UG students were present.
