Devaraja traffic cops donate blood for a cause

Mysuru: Devaraja traffic police personnel donated blood as a part of 31st National Road Safety Week.

About 15 trafficmen donated blood, encouraging even the general public also who responded for the cause at the camp organised at Nanjaraj Bahadur Choultry in the city.

ASI Ningaraju who had donated blood four times earlier, did it again at the camp.
Similarly J C Raghavendra a constable donated blood for the  first time and was happy about new initiative in New year.  He thanked the department for providing a platform.

Mysuru Medical College and Research Institute’s blood bank coordinator Dr B S Manjunath said “we need 60 units of blood everyday, which we process and send to 10 taluk hospitals. Monthly six to seven blood donation camps are organised in various parts of the distriact. The blood will be given to poor patients free of cost”, Manjunath said. 
After Devaraja Traffic police, many police stations have also evinced interest in organising a similar camp.
