Destination Mysore! 148 international students enrol at University of Mysore

Mysuru: It seems University of Mysore is back again the destination of international students. A total of 148 students have enrolled for various courses at the university this academic year.

Vice-chancellor of University of Mysore Prof G Hemanth Kumar disclosed this during the orientation programme organised by the International Centre at Rani Bahadur auditorium at Manasagangotri on Friday.

Hemanth Kumar said ” Unlike other universities in the State, University of Mysore has got highest number of international students. It includes 92 from Afganistan alone”.

Hemanth Kumar attributed the restoration of normalcy to dwindling Covid-19 pandemic, that had restrained the foreign students from accessing education.

He also instilled courage among the students that the varsity will take care of them till they complete their education. The students must be determined in achieving their target and honing skills, he advised.

Prof G R Janardhan director of International Centre, University of Mysore said “The varsity receives students from 38 different countries. The enrolment had stopped due to Covid-19. Now, the students are returning to the campus”.

International Students Advisory a handbook on do’s and don’ts for foreign students was also released on the occasion.
