Despite Corona fear, people flock to garland Siddu

Mysuru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah who was in Varakodu village to launch renovation works of Beereshwara temple near here on Wednesday, was taken aback to see the large crowd waiting to garland him.

At least 500 people had gathered at the temple premises, waiting to garland their favourite leader.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged the people not to ignore the safety measures issued by the government to prevent themselves from the Corona virus.

“I am not against any religious programmes. Had I been aware of the large gathering here, I would not have come. Safety is important as the people are still being infected with the virus,” he said and urged the people to wear masks and use sanitisers.
