Demolition of illegal religious structures: Government must act with wisdom, demands AAP

1 min read

Mysuru: The ongoing demolition of illegal religious structures are on court order and most of them are Hindu temples. This has become a thorn in the throat of BJP.

AAP Mysuru District Convener Malavika Gubbivani states that “To avoid contempt of court, they were silent during demolition and now showing false outrage, just to protect their vote bank. If BJP was really worried about Hindu religion, they would not have allowed such an incident in the first place.”

MP Pratap Simha is using the opportunity to create communal tension. He was quiet till the Mahadevamma temple in Nanjangud was demolished and now doing a drama.

Simha’s childish statement that Churches and Masjids too should be demolished is unfortunate and is with a view to disturb peace and score political brownie points.

Aam Aadmi Party severely condemns the Government’s plan of using SC order as a shield and demolishing city’s long standing religious structures, which is hurting the sentiments of people. Not arguing the case properly in court reflects the incompetence of the government. In all, this is a political drama being played by BJP, says Gubbivani.

Records of all religious structures standing for a long time should be properly verified and the government should spare those not coming in the way of developmental work from demolition, added Gubbivani.
