Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal gets bail

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was granted a conditional bail by the Supreme Court on Friday in connection with his arrest over the allegations of corruption in excise policy case.
While Kejriwal had already secured bail in a Enforcement Directorate (ED) case related to money laundering in July, he had to remain in Tihar Jail after being arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in June. Previously, he had been granted interim bail to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.
Kejriwal will be released on furnishing a bond of Rs 10 lakh and two sureties of equal amount.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision, calling it a “victory of truth.” The bail, granted in the CBI’s excise policy case, paves the way for Kejriwal’s release.
