DC spells plans for attractive, grand Srirangapatna Dasara

Mandya: Deputy Commissioner Dr Kumara gave a call for celebrating the Srirangapatna Dasara with grandeur, without compromising with the tradition.
Addressing a meeting regarding the celebration of Srirangapatna Dasara – 2024 held at Kaveri Hall of Zilla Panchayat on Monday, DC Kumara said “Srirangapatna Dasara should be celebrated for three days either from October 4 to 6 or for 5 days from October 4 to 8. It will be decided soon as to how many days the celebration should be held.”
The Reception Committee, Stage Committee, Health and Medical Services Committee, Food Committee, Parade Committee, Cultural Committee, Exhibition Committee, Cleanliness and Sanitation Committee, Sports Committee, Decoration Committee, Finance Committee, Food Committee etc., Committees have been formed.
He said that all the committees should prepare the plan, without delaying the responsibilities given to them.
The Cultural Committee should give more priority to local artistes. It should be ensured that the public participate in the programme in large numbers. The art forms not approved in the committee are not allowed to participate in the cultural programme. The programmes should be managed very neatly without allowing any loopholes.
He said that the stage committee should also build a stage for Jamboo Savari at Banni Mantap.
Children’s Film Festival should be organised in connection with the celebrations. The films with a good message to the children should be screened in cinema halls.
The Finance Committee should pay the bills due for various programmes including artists’ remuneration within a week of the end of the programme. He said that it should not be ignored for any reason.
Prepare a route map of Jamboo Savari by which the marching committee will march. If there are any potholes in the routes, fix them and take appropriate action, where electric wires are passing.
The same officers and staff who worked in the exhibition committee last year have been appointed this year as well. Therefore, as soon as possible, discharge the responsibility and duty properly.
A total of 200 stalls will be put up in the exhibition. Out of which 50 stalls are limited to food and each district should also prepare special dishes and snacks of the respective district. The remaining 150 stalls are dedicated to different types of product display.
He said that garbage cans should be kept compulsorily near the food stalls and cleanliness should be maintained.
He said that the Health and Medical Service Committee should appoint doctors and staff for providing health service.
It is the responsibility of Cleanliness and Sanitation Committee to maintain complete cleanliness at the programme venues. Therefore, it is very important to maintain cleanliness in every stalls and around the event.
The Illumination Committee will work to attract the public with the best designs.
The Sports and Yoga Dasara Committee should prepare a report on the schedule. Programs like Kavi Ghoshti, Children’s Film Festival, Yoga, Marathon will be held during Dasara and the public should be informed about the events, he said.
DySP Murali, Assistant Commissioner Shivamurthy, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department Siddalingesh and others were present in the meeting.
