Mysuru: Following the death of 24 Covid patients, Chamarajanagar BJP MP V Sreenivas Prasad on Monday demanded compensation for the next of kin of the families of the deceased persons.

Speaking to media persons about most number of patients succumbing to the pandemic in a short span of time at Chamarajanagar district, Prasad said ” I spoke with Chamarajanagar DC on Sunday night about 9-30 and the latter said everything is ok. But, didn’t inform me about oxygen shortage. Similarly I don’t know about the communication between DC and Mysuru and Kodagu MP Pratap Simha,” Prasad said.

Now, I also urge for higher compensation to the families of the victims, said Prasad.

In the first wave Union Health Minister Dr Harshavardhan had called DC and applauded him for Covid management. It is unfortunate, government reached a level to give compensation for victims families, Srinivas Prasad lamented.
