DC inspects MIMS to review quality of treatment to patients

Mandya: Taking note of inconvenience caused to patients at the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences, Deputy Commissioner Dr Kumar visited the institute to review the facilities there.

He visited various wards in the hospital and inquired about the health of patients. He also reviewed the quality of services being provided at the institute. During his inspection, he observed that several patients were sitting on the floor as there were no seating arrangements for the patients visiting the institute. He immediately directed the officials to make arrangements for the waiting patients.

It may be recalled here that during the recent KDP meeting, legislator and minister had discussed inconveniences caused to the patients and had directed the deputy commissioner to inspect the institute.

With regard to the cancer care centre, the deputy commissioner said that the centre needs Rs 5 cr grant and a letter will be written to the State government in this regard. He also said that a proposal to procure various equipment worth Rs 10 cr to provide better treatment to the patients will be submitted to the government.
