Dasara mahouts, kavadis feast on jumbo menu for breakfast

Mysuru: Like previous years, the mahouts and kavadis of Dasara elephants and their family members were treated with breakfast on September 10.
The menu was- Obbattu (Sweet chapati), thatte idli ( plate idli), sambar ( curry), rice pongal, upma and uddina vade.
It was a traditional breakfast that was served on plantain leaves, under a shamiyana erected for the purpose on the palace premises.
Housing and district minister V Somanna and his wife Shylaja, MLAs S A Ramdas and L Nagendra and MP Prathap Simha, served the breakfast before joining the mahouts and kavadis in savouring the breakfast.
As promised earlier, Somanna gave a cheque to bear the travel expenses of tribals who will be ferried in KSRTC buses to Mysuru for Dasara, from V Somanna Foundation.
