Dasara elephant Gopalaswamy carries wooden howdah

Mysuru: Dasara elephant Gopalaswamy on Friday carried wooden howdah during the routine practice in the city.

According to forest personnel, Gopalaswamy carried the wooden howdah from Mysuru Palace to Bannimantap and back, totalling about 10 KM.

In all 14 elephants have been brought in two batches for Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara that will be inaugurated by the President of India Draupadi Murmu at Chamundi Hill on September 26.

Jamboo Savari the last leg of Dasara is on October 5. 

The elephants will be made to carry the howdah in turns during the practice, as an alternative to 750-kg Golden Howdah carrier Abhimanyu, in case if any, for the D-day.
