Mysuru: The Mysuru Dasara Film Festival 2023 will be inaugurated at Kalamandira on October 15 by Sandalwood lyricist Hamsalekha, actors Milana Nagraj and Darling Krishna.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, Mysuru Dasara Film Festival organizing sub-committee head and Tourism Departmemt Deputy director M K Savitha said that Dasara Film festival will showcase Kannda Cinema to the world and also global cinema in the last ten days’ of Mysuru Dasara celebration.
District In-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa along with sandalwood music composer and Mysore Dasara chief guest Hamsalekha and star-couple Darling Krishna and Milana Nagaraj will inauagurate on October 15.
This time, Mysuru Dasara Film festival will be held at two locations – Inox at Mall of Mysore and DRC at Habitat Mall. At Inox, three screens and in DRC, one screen has been dedicated for the festival. A total 112 movies inlcuidng Indian Cinema, Children movies, classic movies and also movies of famed director Akira Kurasova will be screened between October 16 and October 22.
Online registration process will begin from October 9. The organisers have fixed Rs 300 as student pass and Rs 100 for movie enthusiasts for seven days.
In view of Haasya Chakravarthy Narasimharaju’s birth centenary celebration, an interaction with the late actor’s daughter Sudha Narasimharaju will be held on October 20 at Inox venue.
The organisers this time have organised short movie contest for students and individuals. There has been a good response from the short movie makers. A ten selected movies will be shown in this category, Savitha informed.
