Dasara 2023: Govt plans meaningful yet grand celebrations this year, may feature Air Show

Bengaluru: In all probability, this year Dasara celebrations may feature Air show along with other programmes.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who chaired a Dasara high-level committee meeting, here on Monday, told reporters that he will discuss with Defence Minister with regard to adding air show feature to Dasara celebrations.
Dasara or the Nada Habba is a ten-day grand spectacle of traditions, rituals and Mysuru’s very own heritage. The State government has decided to celebrate the festival in a more meaningful yet in a grandiose way, CM Siddaramaiah told reporters.
Dasara festivities will begin from October 15 by offering a puja to Goddess Chamundeshwari atop Chamundi Hills between 10.15 and 10.30 am. While no names have been finalised to inaugurate Dasara festival, it is said that there are proposals to have it inaugurated from Suttur Seer. However, it has not been finalised, yet, said CM Siddaramaiah.
Measures will be taken to kick off Dasara exhibition on October 15 itself and government departments have been asked to set up stalls.
Interestingly, the tableaux, one of the main attractions during the Jamboo Savari, will have one on all the five schemes of the Congress government.
Besides, Dasara – 2023 will also feature regular events like Raitha Dasara, film festival and Yuva Dasara.
Apart from Mysuru, Srirangapattana, and Chamarajanagar, other regions will also hold Dasara celebrations.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah did not disclose the actual grant for the celebration but assured that the executive committee’s budget will be utilised efficiently without any unnecessary burden.
The executive committee includes District in-charge Minister Dr. HC Mahadevappa, Tourism Minister HK Patil, and Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi. The committee will have the Deputy Commissioner as its secretary.
District In-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, Mysuru Mayor Shivakumar, Animal Husbandry Minister K Venkatesh, and MLAs TS Srivatsa, K Harish Gowda, GT Devegowda, GD Harish Gowda and others were present.
