Mysuru: State Government may have scaled down the grandeur of Mysuru Dasara this year as a precaution against Covid-19.
But, nothing can dampen the spirit virtually, what with social networking sites splashed with the images of the annual festival; both past and present.
People of Mysuru and other districts are enjoying the moment via virtual platform only.
Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube are replete with Dasara related posts. The idol of presiding deity Goddess Sri Chamundeshwari in different decorations, illuminated palace, and roads all in the form of colourful photographs are flooded on social media.
Social media enthusiasts are regularly uploading the photos with hashtags like Mysuru Dasara, Dasara 2020 trending on the media.
Social media meme pages and trollers, Instagram pages are showcasing Mysuru and Dasara 2020 in a big way connecting with people across the globe on digital platforms.
Social media handler Vinay B told Mysoorunews.com “it’s really wonderful daily to catch a glimpse of Dasara through photographs and videos. Each and every photos and videos are unique and lens squad in the city are providing all at the right time”.
Dasara sub-committee has also arranged live telecast of all the cultural events at Mysuru Palace premises on social media. Many YouTubers are also using the links and hosting the Dasara events.
