MLA Darshan Puttannaiah travels by train to attend CM Siddaramaiah’s oath taking ceremony

1 min read

Mandya: Wearing a simple casual T-shirt and shorts with absolutely no air of being a debutant legislator, Darshan Puttannaiah, lone farmer’s leader from Melukote took a train from Mandya to reach Bengaluru to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister and D K Shivakumar as Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday.

Unlike many of his colleagues who are not hesitant to put up a show – at least at this juncture – Darshan stands out from the rest. Photographs of Darshan in simple casual outfit hopping on to train are going viral on social media. Many have appreciated his simplicity.

Darshan Puttannaiah, 40 is a techie-turned politician. He had been living in the US where he had set up a firm Qwinix Technologies in Denver. However, his father and noted farmer’s leader MLA K S Puttannaiah’s sudden death changed his life forever. He won against JDS candidate C S Puttaraju in Melkote in the recent election.
