Cow vigilante Puneeth Kerehalli and others get bail

Bengaluru: The High Court of Karnataka has granted conditional bail to Punith Kumar alias Puneeth Kerehalli, a leader of Rashtra Rakshana Pade and four others who were arrested in connection with the alleged murder of cattle trafficker Idris Pasha near Sathanur.
In April, a cattle trafficker Idris had purchased cattle from Tendekere market near Maddur and he had valid receipt of the purchase. He was intercepted near Santemala Circle in Sathanur by Puneeth and allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh. When his demand was not met, he threatened Idris Pasha and assaulted him with weapons. His body was found in Sathanur village in Ramanagara district.
Following the complaint by Yunus Pasha, a relative of Idris, the police had taken Puneeth Kerehalli and others into custody.
