Mysuru: Covid-19 second wave that has not spared any sector from feeling the heat, has also hit the public transportation sector. Mysuru Airport at Mandakalli is feeling the pinch as the number of flyers has reduced by 50 per cent.

Mysuru Airport is one of the fast growing aairports and it has connected to different cities across the country. It saw more than 13,000 passengers in  the last few months, only to witness the downturn due to the pandemic.

In the ongoing month of April, as Covid cases saw a sudden spike, frequent flyers stayed away affecting the passengers movement from Mysuru Airport.

Mysuru airport is strictly following the Covid-19 protocols like 2020 and now business people and even tour enthusiasts have postponed their air travel.

According to Mysuru Airport Director Manjunath “Mysuru Airport has connected seven major cities across the country and top tourist destinations. Air service has continued with all safety measures- wearing mask and face shield made mandatory and sanitisation measures are adhered to strictly,” he says.

Mysuru Airport has issued guidelines to passengers who arrive from Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab states as it is mandatory for them to carry RTPCR Negative report.
