Mysuru: The new Covid Care Centre at Mandakalli is a complete care Centre what with special facility for senior citizens and a separate kitchen to supply food to patients.
A huge building which was earlier allocated to the Karnataka State Open University, has now been converted into the Covid care centre. What more, the facility also has play area with board games in place, a separate space to watch television and WiFi facility with 100 Mbps considering the anxiety and stress that Covid-19 patients suffer during the isolation period.

Further, the centre is equipped with 530 beds, a good team of Corona warriors.
Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar who took the centre tour along with District In-charge Minister ST Somashekhar and
SP CB Rhysyhanth on Saturday, told mediapersons that more indoor stadiums and educational institutions will be converted into Covid care centres to accommodate surging number of patients.
Home Isolation kit
The home isolation has been successfully initiated in the district. Nearly 50 active cases (Mild cases) are at home isolation. They are being monitored via telemedicine from New DC office complex in Siddartha Nagar.
To ensure quicker accessibility for the test kits, the district administration along with the druggists and chemist association has come out with an initiative to provide home isolation kits at a cost Rs 3,500 – Rs. 4,000 for general public. These home isolation kits comprises N95/masks for one week, face shield, glucometer, pulse count machine and hand gloves.

Cluster lockdown in NR constituency
As per the recent Covid positive case data, more number of positive cases are reported from NR Constituency, especially from Kalyangiri, SubashNagar and Udaygiri limits. Evan deaths are reported from same places. The densely populated areas here are making it more challenging for the health workers to tackle the rising number of cases. To make matters worse, people here do not co-ordinate with health workers. They do not provide information on any symptoms and discourage Asha workers from entering their premises.
Concerned over this, the district administration held a meeting with NR Constituency leaders cutting across party and religion and urged them to create awareness in the constituency.
“We have planned to develop Covid care centers at education institutions. It may make the patients feel comfortable to be in their own area. We are working towards it. We working towards imposing cluster lockdown for 10 days at NR Constituency cluster lockdown for 10 days for random test,” DC said.
2000 Random testing kits to Mysuru.

Mysuru will receive 2000 antigen kits which will be able to give result within 45 minutes.

Death audit
These days, Covid-19 deaths are reported within 48 hours. But nearly 10 percent of deaths are being audited with the state team, so, the district health bulletin has been withdrawn.
Meanwhile, Minister ST Somashekar stated that there is no restriction on inter-district travelers.
